This is the February meeting (and first of 2018!) for those interested in learning more about organizational development.  For SIG information see our page here!

    About the OD SIG:

OD SIG gatherings are informal group discussions led by a senior-level OD/talent management practitioner. The discussion leader share stories and insights about their experiences, their backgrounds, how they got started and advanced within the discipline. Discussions are highly interactive. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions. Time is allotted for small group discussions, as well.

"Defining a Collaborative Change Management Strategy"
How do we know what the right intervention is, and how do we develop a consensus among senior management this is what to do?

    Discussion Leader:

    David Chaudron, Ph.D

So often we hear about an organization implementing X, where is the latest buzzword of the day. This often evolves into MBBS(management by best seller), where the organizational head gets the idea to implement something that may or may not fit an organization’s needs. It’s a given that a particular set of techniques or interventions (strategic planning, teambuilding, Six Sigma, executive coaching) is a good thing to do some of the time: the question becomes, when?

David is facilitating a highly-interactive, scenario-based session that focuses on how to develop a collaborative OD change strategy. We all know that the the most effective solutions are those that integrate input from multiple sources. The problem is how to make sense of all that data. What choices do we have? Which solutions are best? What’s our plan? Who will support it? We will work to together using collaboration software to outline a strategy and change management plan for a hypothetical company. Please review the short video at https://www.organizedchange.com/how-consensus-builder-works.htm before you arrive. Doing so will help us do what we have to do in the time allowed.

You need to bring your laptops and your ideas. This should be fun and very interesting.

    About the presenter

David has over 30 years of experience with a wide range of national and international clients. He’s consulted in France, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. He’s spoken at numerous conferences and been a major speaker at internationally broadcast teleconferences to over 35,000 people on organizational change, Re-engineering, systems thinking and strategic planning.

He holds Doctorate and Master’s degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and is the managing partner of Organized Change, and has recently authored Consensus Builder™ collaboration software to assist management in decision-making.

    Discussion: 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

    Networking afterwards

    Microlearning Certificate

This is an ATD National Certificate program, held in conjunction with the ATD International Conference and Exposition 2018.

Use snack-sized learning for employee development.

Microlearning—learning in short bursts that anyone can access anytime—is the next big thing in learning and development. In this hands-on, practical workshop, explore what microlearning is, why it’s hot now, and how to employ MILE, a microlearning design model, to create outstanding, bite-sized learning programs. The MILE model gives you a road map to create a program structure, gather resources using the three Cs (curate, create, and crowdsource), and implement, promote, and evaluate your programs.

    Mobile Learning Certificate

This is an ATD National Certificate program, held in conjunction with the ATD International Conference and Exposition 2018.

Kick start your move to mobile.

Companies are aggressively looking for ways mobile technologies can give them a competitive edge. A significant area in which to find this advantage is in mobile learning and performance improvement. Mobile learning (m-learning) is becoming an important area of focus for many organizations looking to push learning and development to a growing mobile audience that has smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. How do companies take their significant investment in e-learning and convert it for use in a mobile world? There is still a strong belief among people who are not intimately familiar with mobile learning that mobile learning is nothing more than e-learning on a mobile device. But the fact is that proper conversion of content to mobile learning requires instructional design and development skills for mobile learning.

    Measuring Return on Investment Certificate

This is an ATD National Certificate program, held in conjunction with the ATD International Conference and Exposition 2018.

Connect your learning investment to the business bottom line.

Participants in this program will develop the skills needed to create and deliver effective return on investment (ROI) evaluations for learning and performance, organization development, human resources, technology, change, and quality solutions. The program emphasizes the Phillips ROI Methodology. Participants learn to apply ROI techniques to learning and performance solutions, which includes isolating the impact of their program on improvement in business measures, converting that improvement to money, and calculating the ROI. This program is designed for learning professionals experienced with lower levels of evaluation who want to enhance their evaluation practice by including evaluation at the impact and ROI levels.
