    Hello ATD San Diego!

It’s election time! We have two wonderful candidates for the board. Our Chapter Bylaws require that at least 10% of our membership must cast their ballot in order to do business – in this case, in order to elect our Board members. If you could take a moment and read about these wonderful candidates and cast your vote, it would be appreciated.

Please see the information on the right to get to know the candidates!

    -------------------------------------------------------------

I have some sad news to share. Willamae Heitman recently passed away peacefully in her home with her family and friends by her side. She was 97 years old. In 1973, she was the first female President of the San Diego Chapter of ATD. Willamae was a vivacious trend setter, world traveler, and longtime volunteer leader who worked relentlessly to build relationships, support the San Diego Chapter of ATD, and keep her Avon business going longer than any other person on earth.

    Willamae, you will be missed.

    Hello ATD San Diego!

It’s warming up out there, but have no fear, ATD is bringing you ICE!  Not the cubes that keep your drink cold, the ATD International Conference and EXPO (ICE).  This year it’s being held in Atlanta, GA on May 21-24. You can gain new contacts, fresh ideas on how to apply current and future trends to your own job, and find an invigorated passion for talent development. I’m looking forward to hearing from all of the ATD members that went to hear what they learned.  I was even more excited to learn that next year ATD ICE is coming to San Diego in 2018!

As your ATD Chapter President, I'm very grateful for the opportunity to work together with you to keep this great talent development organization thriving each year. There are so many opportunities to learn and grow with the chapter.  If you are a member, be a more active member.  If you are an active member, look into serving on our board of directors. If you are an ATD San Diego member, upgrade to a Power of 2 membership.  We're here for you!

Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.  You can email me at president@tdsandiego.org

See you at the next event!

    Hello ATD San Diego!

Did you attend our brand new Organizational Development SIG in February? Have no fear, if you missed it, we have another wonderful OD Net SIG this month. The topic will be O.D. Efforts at Palomar Healthcare.

We are so fortunate. We have some amazing Talent Development professionals right here in San Diego. Dr. Allison Rossett is one of them and she has agreed to do a workshop for us this month on Achieving Business Outcomes with Performance Consulting. Thank you Allison!

I also want to take this opportunity to mention to each of you our chapter's award winningMentor - Protégé Program. Open to current San Diego chapter members, a creative "speed dating" process takes place where volunteer mentors are paired with interested protégés who then work together in a six-month semi-structured program. BOTH mentor and protégé participants share what they learned about themselves and each other while they expanded their professional network. The best part is it’s free! And it is one of the most beneficial experiences we offer our chapter members.

Could you benefit from the services of an experienced Trainer, Training Vendor, or Consultant specialized in the field of Talent Development? Check out our Resource Directory at http://www.tdsandiego.org/find_trainer. Would you like to be listed in the Resource Directory? Contact our office manager at office@tdsandiego.org for more information.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next event!

    Hello ATD San Diego!

It's PEAK Season! Not skiing - our Performance Excellence and Application of Knowledge award season! If you've managed a training department or supervised the implementation of a training project, you're just right for this leading opportunity! Or, if you want to flex your expertise in applying the ADDIE model and elements of the CPLP, this is the committee for you! Please contact Rebecca Everett at peak@tdsandiego.org.

Be sure to check out our events calendar. We have a wonderful chapter event coming up this month: Tomorrow’s Leadership Skills for a Diverse Workforce: Are women uniquely qualified to be global leaders? presented by Claude Koehl. Next month Allison Rossett will be holding a workshop on Achieving Business Outcomes with Performance Consulting.
